“Panis et circenses”

Personal project – Creation of a children’s book
This book was developed as the graduation project for the course “The narrative image and book illustrations”, taught by Odilon Moraes and Fernando Vilela. The project required for us to choose a known text, song or poem from the brazilian culture, and from it develop a visual narrative, in a book format.

I chose the Gilberto Gil / Caetano Veloso song, “Panis et circenses” – sung by the Mutantes – attempting to play with the ludic universe of a little girl.

And yes, the redhead girl is an homage to singer Rita Lee.
